Hey everybody,
Hopefully
everyone has had a wonderful winter and is ready for the spring
/ summer. As for us, we've been really busy practicing and getting
ready to ramp up for the season and get back to playing some shows.
We've also been getting ready to release a new cd, which hopefully
is due out before the beginning of summer. We have recorded several
shows over the last few months, with plans to record a few more,
and now we are compiling a catalog of songs from these recordings
which we plan to turn into a live cd. After having went down the
road twice with studio recorded albums, we decided to try this
out to add a little variety into our album collection. We will
update everyone when we plan these live recording events.
That's it
for now folks, check back often for schedule and news updates
about the band, and we hope to see everybody soon.

Hey everybody,
How are all
the fans out there? Hopefully everyone's doing well and made it
through the Thanksgiving holiday. As of right now, were booking
shows for 2011, and taking a little break to work on some new
material.
We have one
more show left for 2010, and that's a New Year's Eve show on Friday
12/31/10, at The Tip-Top Lounge. Were real excited about it too.
We brought in the year of 2010 playing a show there, and were
going to close 2010 out with another one. We appreciate the support
from all of our fans out there and want to send out a special
thanks to Larry Parsons from The Tip-Top. He's been real good
to us over the past several years and we couldn't thank him enough
for his support of live music and The Half Bad Bluegrass Band.
That's it
for now folks. We hope to see everyone out on New Years Eve at
The Tip-Top Lounge.

gates in early 2011. So, come out and see us before the end of
2010 while you still have a chance to.

Folks,
We want to
take this opportunity to announce a new development in the band
line-up of The Half Bad Bluegrass Band.
Over the last
few weeks, some of you may have noticed a new face in the band.
Wesley O'Dell has assumed the role of our new full-time mandolin
player. He is an accomplished musician, guitar and mandolin player,
and has been a great friend of the band for several years now.
Please join us in welcoming Wes as our newest band member.
With that
said, we would also like to send a special thanks out to the departing
Howard Estep. Howard was one of the founding members of The Half
Bad Bluegrass Band and was instrumental in working with us to
lay the foundation and groundwork of our band. Thanks a bunch
Howard for all of your dedication and hard work over the last
several years.

Folks,
We would like
to thank you for you patience as we have been working on updates
to our website. There are lots of things on the horizon for The
Half Bad Bluegrass Band for this coming year, we have made several
exciting changes and have a few announcements we would like to
share with you.
--First of
all, some of you may have noticed a new member to the line-up
of The Half Bad Bluegrass Band. We would like to take this opportunity
to officially announce and welcome Mike Estep to the band as the
dog house bass player. Mike brings a lot of bluegrass knowledge,
band experience and an incredible sense of timing to the band.
You can learn more about him on the "About HB" page
of our website. Please join us in welcoming Mike as the newest
member of our family.
-- We would
also like to take a minute to officially say farewell and extend
a big Thank You to Bert Baker, one of the founding members of
The Half Bad Bluegrass Band. Bert has been a major guiding force
in the initial development and overall success the band had from
the beginning. Bert, we'll miss your incredible sense of humor
and your ear for the music we all love. You always had a knack
for remembering words to songs in the middle of a gig, which blew
our minds. Maybe we'll get a chance to pick with you sooner than
later.
--The Half
Bad Bluegrass Band were honored to play at The World Famous Wheeling
Jamboree back on October 24th, 2009. You can view our show in
it's entirty at http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2417283. We start
playing at about the 10:50 mark on the video. Please spread this
link around for us. Feel free to embed it into your MySpace and
Facebook pages. The code can be found at the above link.
--We are back
in the studio again and have almost completed our second album
in as many years. Stay tuned as this project develops and more
information becomes available as to when we will be finished and
information about another cd relaease party. Hopefully it will
be as good as the last one.
--We are booking
lots of shows, festivals and exciting venues for 2010. Bring yourself
and your friends out and enjoy some of the finest bluegrass music
southern West Virginia has to offer. We love seeing the fans,
at all of our shows.
--Please give
us some feedback on how the latest shows are going too. We cannot
survive without feedback from the fans and we appreciate each
and every comment you make, good or bad. We need to hear what
you have to say about us. So, please go to our "Guest Book"
page and give us some feedback.
That's it

Hello,
We have a
very special announcement to make. Today is John's birthday and
we played a small gig this evening with the newest member of the
band. Reegan Lively, John and Heather's daughter, joined us in
her first gig playing mandolin. She played a solo song with her
dad and rocked the house. She has been taking mandolin lesson
for the past several months and is progressing along very well.
Don't be surprised if you continue to see Reegan make cameo appearances
with us.
